Sparrow Quantum has been selected as a 2026 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum—one of 100 early-stage companies from 23 countries chosen for their potential to shape the future of industry and society.

The Technology Pioneer program, now in its 26th year, has recognized more than 1,200 companies since its founding in 2000—among them Google, PayPal, Spotify, and Airbnb. Selection signals that a company is not only working at the frontier of its field, but building technology with real global relevance. For Sparrow Quantum, that technology is our deterministic single-photon source: a chip-based component that generates photons one at a time, on demand, with the reliability and performance that quantum computers require to scale. Developed out of decades of research at the Niels Bohr Institute, the chip, Sparrow Core, addresses one of the most fundamental hardware challenges in the field.

The 2026 cohort spans quantum systems, AI infrastructure, advanced energy, robotics, and biotechnology—fields where the gap between scientific breakthrough and real-world deployment is closing fast. We're proud to be part of a community working to close it.
